I thought it would be good for me to list what I recite during my daily prayers. Some prayer are 365 days, others are seasonal. I started recited prayer in January 2013 with a very basic book with a few prayers. Since then I’ve drawn material from so many sources that I had to create my own e-book just to keep track.
Rosaries, chaplets, novenas, offices, devotionals–I recite many prayer each day. I do all of those because I don’t really have much else to offer to the One who did so much for me.
THE ROSARY
It’s where I started with daily prayer, and it still is the centerpiece. I started here because the Rosary is a common prayerful practice and one easily learned, making it a great place to start. The bigger advantage is that the Rosary is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons in our arsenal against the powers of darkness. If you wish to join myself and millions of other Catholics reciting this holy graceful prayer, both links are highly recommended:
Discerning Hearts: The Holy Rosary of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. All the text of the prayers and what to meditate during recitation, along with a helpful diagram, are all here. There are also mp3s available for download free of charge (but all who use these resources should donate to keep the ministry ongoing.)
Saint Paul Street Evangelization (SPSE): The Rosary Album. Mp3 downloads with music by Melanie Ray at the beginning, a talk by Father Mark Rutherford, then full instructions and a walk-though by Melanie Ray. All this free of charge! I happen to be one of the supporting members the page speaks of, so I cannot recommend this highly enough. I also recommend downloading the companion SPSE PDF Rosary brochure for those unfamiliar with the Rosary.
More content to come. What, you thought that was all? You don’t know this site.
